Oxamates as 1,2‐Diketone Equivalents: The Effect of Fluorine

Abstract Oxamates as building blocks play an important role in organic and bioorganic chemistry well coordination material sciences. In this paper, we present new fluorinated derivatives, which are synthesized from selected primary amines R F NH 2 (R =CH CF 3 , CH CHF CH(CF ) CH(CH )CF or their hydrochlorides ethyl oxalylchloride. Since oxamates can be considered 1,2 diketones, investigated properties, geometries, effective charges at oxygen nitrogen the pK a values for N−H grouping. two cases, molecular structures have been measured by XRD, observing almost planar arrangement of C −N 1 −C 4 atoms. The effect fluorine is discussed compared with non‐fluorinated oxamates. controlled various alkyl substituents (branched straight, non‐fluorinated) could open field, especially when fluorinated, multiple applications sciences (surfaces) biochemical systems (enzymes).
